NHR is highlighting a cold chain monitoring application in Malaysia, helping a cold-storage operator verify walk-in cold-room conditions with continuous data — without drilling a single hole through the insulated panels.
The monitoring need behind the panels
Cold-room temperature is the lifeline of product quality, and customers and auditors expect storage conditions that can be verified against records. But walk-in rooms are built from insulated panels: conventional wired monitoring would mean drilling through them, risking insulation damage, cold loss, and condensation. Practice therefore stayed manual — staff opening doors to take readings by hand, leaving scattered records while anomalies inside the rooms went unnoticed for hours.
The NHR solution deploys S09-TH air temperature and humidity sensors inside each cold room, placed at representative positions such as near the door and deep inside so conditions can be compared. Readings pass wirelessly out of the room enclosure to the cloud platform — no drilling, no cabling — and battery-powered sensing points meant installation required no shutdown or clearing of stock.
Intervention in minutes instead of hours
Each cold room carries its own thresholds and alert rules on the platform: readings approaching the limit trigger a reminder, and crossings alert duty staff immediately.
