Case Snapshot

A metro station in Taiwan has formally adopted a B01-to-S09 workflow for waste-bin alerts. At monitored bins, B01 is mounted inside the enclosure above the waste container. When waste reaches the configured full-bin level, the signal reaches an S09 unit at station control. Control staff then notify the responsible cleaning team by radio, following the communication practice already used on site.

Problem

Peak-hour fill changes outpaced visual rounds

Waste levels can change quickly with train headways, transfer traffic, and time of day. Cleaning teams also move between entrances, concourses, and platform levels, making point-by-point visual checks difficult to time around every peak.

The station needed an immediate status signal without asking cleaners to handle personal phones along passenger routes. Any new workflow also had to fit the roles and communication practices already established between station control and field staff.

Solution

B01 sends the full-bin state to S09; station control dispatches by radio

B01 Smart Laser Waste Bin Sensors monitor fill condition without contact. In this installation, the sensor is positioned inside the bin enclosure and above the waste container. The alert trigger is configured at the 100% full-bin condition, when waste reaches the opening. This percentage is a setup threshold, not an efficiency result or sensor-accuracy claim.

The bin signal reaches an S09 Smart Wireless Transmitter at station control. When the alert appears, control staff use the existing radio channel to direct the responsible cleaner to the area. The digital sensing layer is therefore added without replacing the station's established field communication workflow.

Digital awareness fits the radio workflow already used on site

The deployment adds an event-based alert to visual patrols, allowing station control to act on a known full-bin condition when the signal arrives instead of waiting for the next scheduled check.

Cleaning staff continue receiving instructions by radio and do not need to handle a phone as part of this alert workflow. The value is operational fit: bin status becomes visible at station control while field dispatch remains familiar to the people carrying out the work.
