NHR Smart Bay Monitoring Brings Real-Time Parking Visibility to a Taiwan Logistics Site

NHR is sharing a smart bay-monitoring application at a logistics site in Taiwan, where P01 on-ground parking sensors give the operator live visibility of loading-bay occupancy and better coordination of vehicle movement.

From walk-around checks to one live map

Loading bays set the rhythm of a logistics operation, yet this site once relied on paper logs and walk-around checks. Dispatchers crossed the yard repeatedly at peak times to find open bays, drivers circled looking for a spot, and management had no complete usage record to analyze.

The operator installed an NHR P01 sensor in every large loading bay, determining occupancy through geomagnetic sensing plus a secondary sensing method. Installation required no pavement excavation and never interrupted daily operations, while C01-A edge-analytics cameras at the entrances record vehicle movements. The platform now shows every bay's status on one live map and raises an alert when abnormal occupancy occurs.

Better coordination, and data to build on

Routine patrol and status-check hours fell by roughly a third. Drivers know which bay to head for before entering, circling and waiting inside the yard dropped noticeably, and vehicle coordination now runs off a shared live map instead of verbal relays.

Bay usage also forms a complete, analyzable record for the first time — occupancy by time of day and turnover are backed by data, providing the basis for reviewing bay allocation and planning peak staffing.
