Data is scarcest exactly when it matters most
During the monsoon season, river levels can climb dangerously within hours, yet traditional staff gauges depend on someone traveling to the site to read them by hand. The river sections needing monitoring are dispersed and remote, and the height of a storm is precisely when staff can least safely reach them — by the time reports arrived from downstream, little response time remained.
The NHR solution mounts H01 non-contact smart radar level sensors on bridges and fixed structures above the water at key river cross-sections. The unit never touches the water, minimizing damage from sediment and floating debris, and reports over the NB-IoT cellular network — so remote river sections need no communications or power cabling.
From passive reports to real-time alerts
Levels from every station stream into the platform and plot against alert thresholds: readings approaching a threshold trigger a push notification, and crossings raise an immediate alarm. Response staff visualize the level and rate of rise at every remote location on a single screen, coordinating road closures, warnings, and personnel deployment ahead of time. Rising trends are now seen at an early stage, routine site visits for manual readings fell by roughly a third, and each cross-section's history accumulates as continuous data for long-term flood-control planning and engineering assessment.
